RESORT 26

This season, our reference points span art, design, and craft — a constellation of work that shapes perspective and informs creative process. From explorations of memory and collaboration to the poetry found in material, gesture, and tradition, these works form the context for Resort 26.

01. WOLFGANG TILLMANS. NOTHING COULD HAVE PREPARED US – EVERYTHING COULD HAVE PREPARED US.

Wolfgang Tillmans has continually expanded what photography can be, from portraits to abstract images made without a camera. In recent years, Wolfgang Tillmans has been the subject of major retrospectives in leading institutions, notably at Tate Modern in London in 2017 and MoMA in New York in 2022. He has also presented a major exhibition entitled ‘Fragile’ which toured the African continent (2018–2022 in Kinshasa, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Addis Ababa, Yaoundé, Accra, Abidjan and Lagos). The exhibition at the Centre Pompidou is his first solo exhibition at an institution in Paris since his ambitious installation at the Palais de Tokyo in 2002. The exhibition is complemented by a catalogue and the publication of an expanded version of Tillmans’ Reader. This book is a collection of writings by and interviews with the artist.

02. AINO + ALVAR AALTO: A LIFE TOGETHER — HEIKKI AALTO-ALANEN

Aino and Alvar Aalto were partners in life and in design, creating some of the twentieth century’s most celebrated objects and buildings. This visual biography, written by their grandson, draws on family letters, photographs, and sketches, many never published before, to tell the story of their life and work together in Finland and abroad.

03. MEMORY: A PLAY OF TWO’S — HEREU

HEREU celebrates its 10th Anniversary with the launch of MEMORY. A Play of Twos - a photo book that marks a decade of creative exploration and presents a visual and introspective celebration of the brand’s artistic community and origins.

04. AURÉLIE SCOUARNEC: REVÊTIR — RUE DU BOUQUET

The traditional costumes of Brittany show how clothing carries history and place. Aurélie Scouarnec has long been drawn to the materials and details of these garments, worn by her family across generations. In her series Dress, she follows those who still wear them today, from dancers to families, capturing moments of preparation, practice, and celebration.

05. CAFE CECILIA COOKBOOK

Max Rocha’s debut cookbook brings the menu of his East London restaurant, Café Cecilia, to life. Inspired by seasonal ingredients, the food of his mother, and his childhood in Ireland, Rocha’s recipes are simple, thoughtful, and full of flavour. From signature dishes like Guinness Bread and Sage & Anchovy Fritti to seasonal creations such as Poached Greengage with granola and Globe Artichokes with Sunflower Seed Tahini.
