About the role:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the planning and actioning of  the Production Schedule in order to meet deadlines. You will assist the Operations Team to effectively manage and plan production flow by prioritising demand and production capabilities as well as assist in the accurate planning of production, whilst balancing inventory and finished goods to meet customer demands.

This role will include, but is not limited to: 

  • Manage QC & external production agents, ensuring production meet the requirements & standards of company and customers
  • Have a strategic overview of the entire company, identifying opportunities and areas of growth
  • Identify new opportunities with existing and new factories and milles to create competitive advantage
  • Assist manager to establish and align sourcing strategy with key vendors
  • Assist manager in research and development for new strategies to support long term company goals
  • Develop and implement process improvement
  • Develop & Maintain good relationships with suppliers
  • Conduct audits, pre-production meetings, supplier evaluations and inductions as required
  • Generate final costing’s
  • Responsible for final price negotiation with mills and factories
  • Work with factories to solve problems that may arise during production
  • Responsible for inputting and updating details into the system on a regular basis
  • Report & Data analysis
  • Ensure smooth running of the Production process
  • Perform all bulk production related tasks from PPS approval through to receiving product in- store in line with company quality standard and deadlines
  • Create and manage Production Schedule to ensure all products are developed in full and on time
  • Maintain Production Schedule based on order entries, maintenance of forward orders, communicated with sales and production departments on a regular basis
  • To effectively use the ERP system to forecast and coordinate the production planning process
  • Determine supply-chain requirements, stock levels, data accuracy, realistic lead-times and customer needs
  • Liaison with internal and external factories and to ensure rolling orders or forward production forecasting bookings are in place with factory
  • Create production and delivery plans ensuring optimum batch sizes, seasonality and customer contracts are accounted for
  • Ensure that all areas of production are aware of all customer requirements on product and delivery
  • Optimise capacity and productivity throughout production process
  • Liaise with suppliers, sales and internal stakeholders alike to identify potential improvements to the scheduling and production planning process, therefore increasing customer satisfaction and decreasing production costs
  • Inventory and order management for replenishment lines
  • Report on customer delivery service and elimination of back-orders
  • To create and communicate daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal production and capacity plans based on business needs
  • Close liaison with the sales team to ensure they have the most accurate data for replenishment orders
  • Liaise with Operations, Warehouse, Sales and Customer Services on Stock Management issues
  • Any other related reports projects as directed by senior management
  • Raw Material Planning
  • Establish raw material order schedule and communicate this with sales
  • Coordinate and lead weekly raw materials status and order meetings
  • Liaise and negotiation with suppliers to source, cost, order and follow up on fabrics and trims
  • Track raw material inventory
  • Monitor inventory levels and lead times of overseas raw materials, combined with close budgetary and financial controls
  • Plan the timely delivery of fabrics and trims required for production according to raising purchase orders with suppliers
  • Raise weekly purchase orders generated from the material requirement planning
  • Identifying potential delivery delays and take the appropriate corrective action.
  • Coordinate any freight forwarders
  • Ensure delivery schedules are met
  • Arranging testing of bulk fabric & components
  • Coordinate fabric & trim stock takes
  • Communicate production status to all stake holders
  • Provide weekly WIP reports
  • Provide seasonal cash flow projections
  • Deliver reports to areas of business indicating production workflow, completion dates and outstanding issues

Requirements for the role:

  • 6+ years experience in Production, Operations, Planning, Manufacturing or Textiles
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Operations, Planning, Manufacturing or Textiles
  • Experience working with premium level product
  • Experience of working with factories in Australia and China
  • Previous experience in production planning within the manufacturing industry
  • Strong numerical skills and experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent IT skills, Excel, ERP systems, and other IT planning tools
  • Experience in process improvement
  • Strong communication skills

Desirable:

  • In depth exposure to Purchasing Principles and Supplier Relationships highly desirable
  • Experience working with operational resources planning desirable
  • Working knowledge of capacity and demand planning, materials requirement planning, masters scheduling, Sales and Operations highly desirable
  • Willingness to Travel
  • Knowledge of Cin7
