Out of your day-to-day life, what special places in the city would you recommend?
My favorite place for an occasion with family and friends is the farm-to-table restaurant, Common Thread. It’s in an old Victorian house under huge oak trees. The General Manager and Wine Director, Libby Burk, has done an incredible job with their wine program, highlighting many intentional and small low-intervention producers. Common Thread’s menu changes with the seasons and every dish is packed with flavor!
Another of my favorite spots is The Wyld Dockbar. It’s on an idyllic marsh and their menu focuses on local seafood and seasonal produce. It’s the best place to enjoy the beauty of the low country with a frozen painkiller cocktail and a basket of fried shrimp.
Since moving to Savannah a year ago it’s been a delight getting to know my fellow business owners that are scattered throughout the neighborhood and downtown.
