Your bags make market shopping a treat. In your neighbourhood what places, that are part of your daily life, would you recommend as worth a visit ?

I love that and I really feel at home while walking between multiethnic shops and historical Milanese places. Some of my favourite things to do are going to the weekly market in via Fauchè, an historical area rich of artisanal stores, or going flower shopping on a Saturday morning before taking my bike or the metro to get to the studio.

Also, I’m in love with the ice cream place just under my house, with the local greengrocers as well as with the many Chinese dumplings places all around the area.

My tip is for you to pass by and not forget to take an aperitivo at Enoteca Isola.

Milan is full of artisans across the design spectrum. When it comes to home furnishings and ceramics what retailers and craftspeople do you recommend are worth a visit?

You should definitely visit Galleria Luisa delle Piane, right in my neighbourhood!

A place not to be missed, where the artistic research and curatorship spaces from unique pieces to design classics and exclusive artworks from Italian and international emerging designers.

For a special evening out - what does perfection look like to you?

First of all, get a glass of macerated wine at Vinoir, then have an exquisite dinner at Pastamadre, and finally go for a couple of drinks at DaBass. I have to say I feel pretty lucky living in Milan, because there is quite a nice range of cool restaurants and bars. It wasn’t an easy choice!

If I wanted to be inspired Milanese architecture what would you suggest?

Immersing in Gio Ponti’s buildings colours and interiors, not forgetting to check Casa Corbellini-Wassermann by Piero Portaluppi, specially the floorings and coatings. But also the architecture and open spaces of Fondazione Prada, focusing especially on materials and colours. I love the green chairs!

Could you recommend three highlight experiences that crystalizes the experience of the city – food / culture/ shopping or sites?

Fondazione Prada enclose much of what I love about my city. The intersection between fashion and design, old and historical and new and modern. Its incredibly fascinating architecture. So I would suggest you to pay a visit to it, before or after a nice lunch at Li Sei Deli, my favourite Korean place just two steps away from my studio and showroom. This way you’d see how different amazing cultures adapted and evolved in order to create something new and beautiful by merging themselves with the Milanese traditions and landscapes.

If you had to share one insider tip for getting the most out of the city what would that be?

Riding around with bike sharing, so you can leave your ride wherever you like, remembering to pay attention to the traffic as Milan can be quite hectic!

Connection to, and responsiveness to nature, is important to you. Striking out into a natural habitat – what are your nearby go-to spots for coast and country?

To me nature is embedded in the sea, the Mediterranean sea.

But I have to say that thanks to the time spent in Guatemala and its intense and wide nature I started to appreciate the countryside and the mountains even more, especially the Swiss valleys, not too far from Milan, which offer incredible landscapes all summer and autumn long.

Also, I do love the feeling of freedom in the heights, the Emilian countryside and fields, antiques houses and the simplicity of authentic good food.

What is your all-time favourite holiday destination?

Lerici and Tellaro! I love the sea and the house where I spend many weekends and moments in both spring and summer. The house’s architecture is very unique, as a matter of fact we decided to shoot one of our last project’s campaigns there.

Then Venice in May and September, and NY, all the time!
